They are solenoid-operated spool valves with the standard NG6 interface to ISO 4401-03, CETOP 3 and NFPA D03, so they mount on any NG6 connection plate or on top of a stack of sandwich valves.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe first choice is the number of switching positions. A 4-2-way valve has two positions, which suits driving an actuator one way or the other, or switching a function on and off. A 4-3-way valve adds a spring-centred middle position, in which the actuator can be stopped. Its centre function decides what happens there: hold the actuator, release it to move freely, or let the pump flow return to tank at low pressure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe spool symbol in the type code defines the exact connections in each position, so compare it with the circuit diagram. Then choose the solenoid configuration and the coil voltage.
