This G 4" BSP female globe valve provides reliable manual flow control via a handwheel. The bronze body with brass upper part and PTFE seat seal handles water, air, heating and hydraulic oils, fuels, and saturated steam. The PTFE seat is compatible with saturated steam up to 7 bar, making this valve a practical choice for heating and steam shut-off applications. bronze offers good corrosion resistance for general industrial and heating service. Avoid use with strong acids, ammonia, seawater, or other media aggressive to copper alloys. Rated to 16 bar at 20 °C (7 bar for saturated steam), temperature range -10 to 170 °C (14 to 338 °F). The pressure rating decreases at elevated temperatures.

Pros:

  • Manually operated with ergonomic handwheel - precise control and slow closing prevents water hammer.
  • PTFE seat seal - compatible with saturated steam up to 7 bar and a wide range of media.
  • bronze body - good corrosion resistance for water, steam, oils, and fuels.
  • Wide size range from G 1/2" to G 4" - suitable for a broad range of pipe dimensions.

Cons:

  • Not suitable for strong acids, ammonia, or seawater - use the stainless steel variant instead.
  • Higher pressure drop than ball or gate valves - not ideal where minimal flow resistance is critical.
  • Limited flow regulation - use a needle valve for fine control.
